Up next is the 42nd edition of Fête de la musique. It first took place in 1982 in Paris on June 21st and has since become an international phenomenon, celebrated on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries.
Every year citizens and residents are urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces, and also – of course – musicians of all kind of genres are invited to join the world’s largest event celebrating MUSIC on the day of the summer solstice.
JAOUAD EL GAROUGE & FULL GNAWA
Jaouad El Garouge (vocal, gumbri) was raised in a family of gnawa musicians in Essaouira, Marocco. Arriving in France he soon became one of the country’s leading gnawa musician known for his authentic and rich music.
Having joined numerous of projects, El Garouge has performed with bands like Global Gnawa, Alright Mela and Gnawa Youmala that released the album “Dounya” on Global Sonics in 2020. To Fête de la musique El Garouge will be joined by the excellent Full Gnawa band – we promise you an explosive concert!
DJ LISA & LISA
Rumors say no Fête de la musique without DJ Lisa & Lisa, famous way beyond Montmartre’s borders. We simply needed them back for yet another elegant, mind-bending show with the absolutely best club music.
Lisa & Lisa met in a dark and seedy bar back in 2012 in Oslo, Norway and immediately became an iconic duo with low moral and high heels. Since then they’ve been playing their eclectic mix of electronic pop, house and techno for all lusty mankind around Europe.
What a blast it’ll be!
