NO SUMMER WITHOUT FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE!
Once again we’re back in Paris for the annual Fête de la musique on Jun 21st that celebrates music in all its forms. This day was created by the French Ministry of Culture in 1982 with the aim of bringing musicians and people together in celebration of music from all corners of the globe.
Since 2015 Global Oslo Music has had its own venue located in the heart of Montmartre presenting artists from Norway and local artists.

This year we proudly present the outstanding Maria Lotus – an influential artist in the Norwegian hip-hop scene, known for her unique style and powerful voice. Her debut album, ‘Melaninrik’ and her follow-up album ‘High Life’, impressed audiences with its impactful lyrics and insightful portrayal of the life of a melanin-rich mother, artist, singer, dancer, and activist. With her upcoming release on June 22nd on Global Sonics – ‘Two Point Oh’ – Maria Lotus continues to expand her musical universe and explore new sounds.Also joining the lineup is the newly established fabulous duo ZxO with music commissioned by Global Oslo Music that premiered at its annual festival Global Nights in Oslo on May 25th. ZxO is Ombeline Chardes (Norway/France) and Zayka (France) – 2 composers and musicians creating amazingly mixed style of classical, avant-garde, electronics and groovy music. Zayka is also a well know DJ that will spin border breaking club music.
Ombeline Chardes is a violinist/multi-instrumentalist, composer and a conductor. Born in Paris she started early studying music at the Conservatoire de Paris XV and Conservatoire de Paris XII. Later while studing Musicology mention Didactic at La Sorbonne, she joined the Jazz orchestra of Laurent Cugny and the Jazz department of the Ecole Nationale de Musique de Cachan in violin and writing / orchestration / arrangement. Armed with her years of study and diversity of her achievements and experiences, Ombeline compose instrumental music as well as for the image.Zayka is one of many exciting artists who stem from Paris-based 18heures48 – a production company of collective artists known for their staple of innovative artists making their mark and breaking new ground on the French music scene.
Zayka completed his degree in trombone at the Music Conservatories in Noisiel and Paris. In addition to having toured with super band Caravan Palace, he also has toured with Malted Milk, as well as contributed to the album recordings of Ibrahim Maalouf and Electro Deluxe. Zayka has released the album ‘Sixth Mass Extinction’.
