Vi fortsetter vår konsertserie på Deichmanske bibliotek på Grünerløkka, som gjennom sitt varme miljø og fine lokaler er et naturlig samlingssted for kunst- og kulturopplevelser ved siden av å samle leselystne. Vi er stolte av å runde av høstens serie med de fenomenale utøverne i duoen Lilja Lajla som lover et særegent tonesatt møte mellom musikere og publikum. We are delighted to bring our fall concert series to a close with the two phenomenal musicians Lilja Lajla who offer a soundscape of depth and variety rooted in both ambient and traditional music, inspired by love and sincerity.

LILJA – Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir – er en allsidig og nyskapende gitarist som har sprunget ut av Oslos jazz- og verdensmusikkscene. Hun har hatt prosjekter – og konserter – i Asia, Afrika, Midtøsten, New York og Europa og samarbeidet med mange store navn innen jazz og tradisjonsmusikk fra hele verden. Hun turnerer fortiden med bandet Moksha i forbindelse med deres debutplate The Beauty of an Arbitrary Moment på Jazzland Records og med Bugge Wesseltofts New Conception of Jazz. I tillegg leder hun prosjekter som inkluderer sitarvirtuos Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan (Pakistan) samt en trio med saksofonist Marthe Lea (Norge) og mester i gnawamusikk Zakaria Houaouara (Marokko).
(E) LILJA – Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir – is a versatile and innovative guitarist, emerged as a force in the contemporary jazz and world music scene in Oslo. A part of numerous musical projects has brought her to Asia, Africa, Middle East, New York and Europe. She has worked with many big names within the jazz and traditional music scene from around the world. She is currently touring with the band Moksha after the release of their debut album The Beauty of an Arbitrary Moment on Jazzland Records, also with Bugge Wesseltoft’s New Conception of Jazz in addition to her projects with sitar virtuoso Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan (Pakistan) and a trio with saxophonist Marthe Lea (Norway) and the master of gnawa music Zakaria Houaouara (Morocco).
Lajla Storli har spilt folkemusikk siden hun var ung og har brukt hardingfela og sang i mange sammenhenger. Knut Hamre er hennes fremste læremester på Hardingfele og hun har arbeidet mye med tradisjonsmusikk fra Hardanger. I den senere tid har hun imidlertid også fått inspirasjon fra andre tradisjonar og sjangre. I dag er hun freelancemusiker på heltid, som innebærer både undervisning og sceneformidling. Hun er kjent for sitt helt personlige uttrykk og toner i møte med publikum, som ikke bare er av stor betydning for henne selv, men har gjort henne til en etterspurt utøver over hele landet og internasjonalt. Lajla gav ut sitt første soloalbum Møya som drøymde (2013) som høstet fine kritikker.
(E) Rooted in folk music, Lajla Storli studied Hardanger fiddle under the famous folk musician Knut Hamre and vocal music. She has worked extensively with traditional music from Hardanger but has recently also gained inspiration from other traditions and genres. Today she is a fullt-time freelance musician which involves both teaching and stage presentation. She’s a highly solicited across the country and abroad, with a reputation for impacting her audiences through a personal musical expression that means a lot to her. Lajla released his first solo album Møya som drøymde (2013) which received excellent reviews.
